Days 6: Last Day of Vegan Fasting

Day 6: April 7

Total Weight Loss: 2 lbs:

Current Weight: 109 lbs.

The last day was a breeze. We’ve been doing the 80% vegetables and fruits (mostly raw) since March 20 so the 6-day vegan diet wasn’t that hard already, we knew how to deal with our hunger pangs and we don’t miss fish and chicken that much. It also helped that all the people at home were also observing the fish-vegetables diet.

Breakfast:

Denon went biking so he ate as much whole wheat flat tortilla bread and had apples and banana while I consumed what’s left in the guacamole container with a flat tortilla bread plus this juice:

Apple-Pineapple-Celery Juice

Lunch: Salad and Apple-Carrot-Celery Juice

Snack: I forgot but we took advantage of what’s available in the fridge so I am guessing we had, apples and bananas.

Dinner:

I cooked Fresh Lumpiang Ubod with just slightly sautéing all the vegetables. I didn’t include shrimps or pork in the recipe.

This had:
Ubod, Singkamas, Sweet Potato, Carrots and Cilantro.

Day 1: Vegan Fasting

So we are on a diet watch for a week now, we started March 20, my birthday, eating more veggies and fruits, less meat (fish only but lesser intake, no dairy but just super thin slices of cheese if we make veggie sandwiches, whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta and brown rice). I know, not the right time but believe me we have reasons that are far way more important than indulging on cake and ice cream. Anyway, we’ve decided to do Vegan Fasting in the observance of Holy Week. We’ll do more juicing and feast on salads and fruits for a week and here’s a run down of our Day 1. (Sorry no photos for yesterday, I was too busy – it was a Monday).

Day 1: April 2

Current Weight: 111 lbs. (But my goal here is not to lose weight but mainly to just sacrifice for lent and teach myself to eat healthier)

Breakfast, which was similar to what I had last Sunday -photo insert, so I guess this will have a photo after all.

Brekkie

Apple-Carrot-Celery-Tomato-Orange Juice and 2 Bananas

Snack:

2 Bananas

Lunch:

Salad:

Romaine Lettuce
Tomatoes
Cilantro
Zucchini
Onions

With Dressing of: Olive Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Curry Powder, Cayenne Pepper, Cumin, Salt and Pepper.

Then we bought juices from Big Chill:
His: SUPERCHARGER – I’m not quite sure what’s in it but I think it has strawberries, low fat yogurt and spirulina (blue-green algae).
Hers: Strawberries and Mango smoothie

Dinner:

1 large Sweet Potato
Tomatoes and Onions
A Banana

I hope I can capture photos tomorrow. Will keep you posted! :)

Awaken the Healer in You

Some may think that it is extreme, others may agree because after all, after listening to this video, it made real sense… but for me? I have personal reasons why I (together with my husband) am trying to change our lifestyle, particularly my eating habits. I am sharing this video to those who, like me, are ready for change.

Brother Bo Sanchez is a blessing and because of this video, I also started listening to his talks regularly via You Tube and I hope someday, I can attend The Feast in PICC and be an active member of the Kerygma Family.
