Get Rid of that Garlic-ky Smell

Before I post about the title of this entry, let me share to you a short story that happened this afternoon… I received a text message from my Dad who just arrived from his trip to Iloilo and told me he’s already home. He just rode the taxi from the airport. When I got home, he was dressing up, I thought he is changing into his “pambahay“, but he told me immediately when I greeted him to browse about Backwoods cigars (he’s actually preparing to attend a dinner party) because the birthday celebrant loves that particular cigar and my Dad doesn’t have the clue what it is. It was so funny researching about it online while my Dad looks on. Anyway, on to my post… :D

I eat one single garlic everyday, it’s good for the heart, I heard that somewhere. Nothing’s wrong about taking one piece of garlic everyday but holding one and leaving a garlicky smell in your hands is definitely not nice. This tip is actually proven and I use this all the time…

What You’ll Need
Stainless Steel surface e.g. kitchen sink
What To Do
After chopping garlic, to remove odour from your fingers rub them for 30 seconds against a stainless steel surface e.g. kitchen sink.
Next time you have that smell, try my tip, it can work for you too! ;)

How to Clean Your Sigg Bottles

I couldn’t sleep last night, I’ll be needing the best eye wrinkle cream soon. I’ve been sleeping late for the past 3 days or so, well because my son is sick and sleep is really depriving me these days, I have no clue why? Or maybe I have. :D So instead of bumming around and doing nothing I searched last night about how to clean your Sigg bottles, why? Well, I have 2 Sigg bottles here, 1 for my nephew and 1 for our dear son, our gifts for Christmas. Yihee!

  1. Empty the Sigg bottle every day, especially if the beverage is alcoholic in nature or fermented, such as kombucha tea. Storing these for long periods of time in a Sigg bottle can cause a buildup of gas that could compromise the structure.
  2. Step 2

Clean the bottle with hot water and normal dish soap. For most users, a simple rinse at the end of the day is enough to kill germs and keep scale under control. Run a sponge around the mouth of the bottle to kill oral bacteria.

  3. Step 3

For intermediate-level care, to address things such as sugar or mineral deposits, fill the bottle with water and add a little white vinegar. Let this mixture sit for several hours, then empty and rinse the bottle. The vinegar will break down the deposits but won’t harm the liner.

  4. Step 4

Use Sigg cleaning tablets (see Resources section) for really tough cleaning jobs or seasonal maintenance. Drop the tablet in the bottle with a quantity of water and use the special Sigg cleaning brush to scour the inside surface. Don’t use a wire brush for this because that could ruin the inner coating.

  5. Step 5

Don’t clean your Sigg bottle in the dishwasher. The opening is really narrow, and the cleaning agents and water won’t get far enough in to make a big difference. Hand care is best.
