My friend is on the way and we are actually planning to throw a baby shower for her. I am actually tasked to make some baby shower invitations, though only a few will be invited I still want to make it special and hopefully I can draw some inspirations online for it. Another friend will be in charge for the party favors and then we are requested to bring some essentials for the baby, like feeding bottles, formula and diapers, which are practical items instead of giving the baby toys which the baby won’t need in the near future. We will all have food to bring, we are 5 who are organizing so we have to bring 2 viands for the party plus some guests who are also friends might be asked to bring anything for the party. No alcohol for this one, this is one wholesome party and we are not bringing booze. I’m excited, I love being with my friends.
I was talking to a long distance friend last night and she is about to prepare a simple birthday party for her daughter but since it’s a budgeted event she is actually concentrating to the food and the cake but we got so involved talking about insurance marketing which is what she is into right now, she just actually started as an agent and she talked about learning to be credible and have fresh ideas in their competitive world. Then we also back tracked in time and reminisced our college days when we were just carefree and no worries like vaccines, pre-schooling or diapers but we both agreed in the end that nothing compares to the experience of being a mommy even if our younger days are also fun and exciting. Anyway, after all those topics we went back to the party preparations and since she is busy being a new agent and being a mom all at the same time, I suggested to just hire a caterer, since she wants to have a simple party but with delicious food, maybe 3-5 viands is already okay then she just have to look for a nice cake and I suggested an ice cream cake, it’s like hitting 2 birds with 1 stone, you get a cake that her daughter can blow a candle with plus ice cream for everyone after singing the birthday song! She loved the idea and then I showed her my son’s birthday ice cream cake which doesn’t look different from the real cakes…

This is from Dairy Queen and I bet there are prettier and more delicious ice cream cakes in the US.

Invitations Halloween
When I was a kid, Halloween was not a big thing. Actually, I never really remember receiving a Halloween Invitation before. Late October and Early November came by fast without organizing such parties. But today, Halloween is something that kids look forward to. I know in a year or two I might be organizing a Halloween party for my son and his friends. Informing guests via Invitation Halloween, this I’m sure I will do soon. I’m not really complaining as much as I love organizing a party, I’m fond of the Halloween myself. I’m very particular with invitations, when I was getting married, I told my husband that we should really think of a nice concept with our wedding invitation. Though Halloween is not grand as a wedding, I believe that we should be also meticulous in making of Halloween Invitations because it will bring the information about your party to your guests, making it nice will make your guests excited. At http://www.cardsshoppe.com/ you will see Halloween Party Invitations and not only that they also have invitations for Weddings, Birthdays, Holidays and even Octoberfest plus they also print and ship your order the same day as it is approved with free shipping. Pretty cool. I’m sure I will be going to this site when the time comes.
Above all, we’re all set for Dustin’s simple pool party 2nd birthday. I have everything covered. I just need to borrow some catering stuff from my mom’s friend and we’re all set. The most expensive thing we bought for the party is this…

Intex Huge Pool. We were supposed to buy those big pools that are worth 3K but when we passed by this toy store in Market Market and they are selling this one item in their rack on sale, we decided to buy it, we get to save 4K and I think it’s worth it since we will be able to use this for a long time.
The size is…

Yeah, 15 feet in diameter so I think this will somehow occupy most of our garden space. I asked my dad to get a nice tent to cover the pool so the kids won’t get sunburn.
The item is still inside the box, we wanted to try it but we are somehow skeptic kasi sayang sa water. We’d probably get the guts if it’s super hot na siguro, we heard the weather will reach 40 degrees celcius pa from what PAGASA reported. Yikes! We are so ready for summer!!! Okay off to see some annual travel insurance for my aunt.

Hello Spongebob, goodbye Nemo!
I went to Divisoria with my ever reliable sister in law who used to live in Abad Santos with her family so she knows the malls very well. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find any Nemo item, kahit isa lang, Nadah. So after Andings where I bought all the loots for the kids, we went straight to Divi Mall to look further but no Nemo still so I’ve decided to change the theme to Spongebob since he is also from under the sea when I saw these bags only for 20 pesos each then I saw those cute stickers and bought a pack for each kid and each pack only costs 5 pesos. I also received his birthday tees from etsy yesterday.
So as of now, I already have the menu, written and will just do the marketing a day before the party. Complete loots for the kids. I only have Kitchen Krafts to visit this month, buy Dustin his swim wear, buy the party stuff like Spongebob plates, etc. and buy those huge pools maybe in SM or Market! Market! then we’re all set.
Okay now, I need to be looking for a degree program for my sister who is asking my help online.
I want to update Dustin’s Party Checklist:
- Invitation (I’m still thinking if I will send a party invitation since there will only have 7 kids invited, but Huuby told me that I should give invitatiosn so the kids will know that they’ll be attending a swimming party)
- Date: March 28 (Saturday, Dustin’s birthday is on March 24)
- Time: 9:30 am
- Venue: Our house
- Theme: FOUND Nemo! (Yes, FOUND. I want it to be positive, “Finding” is somehow a negative word when used in the title)
- Menu (for the kids and the adults) lunch to afternoon merienda
- Cake (I hope things work out with KK)
- Party Games
- List of prizes
- Party loot bags with loot contents (of course)
- Dustin’s swimming attire
- Dustin’s Birthday Attire (just waiting for the etsy order to pick up at QCPO)
- Inflatable pools
- Tables and Chairs
- Balloons and air pump
That’s about it. I will update this once in awhile. I have a couple of packages that I’m expecting to come in QCPO, I hope to receive parcel notices this week. I’m also kind of redecorating our rooms, though my husband wants a couple of Discount Blinds he found online, I told him I want curtians for now. So aside from the party, I’m also excited what will happen with our room after my sort-of-redecorating thingie. LOL.
