Future for the Soldiers

I heard about online military degrees where soldiers in the United States can take up courses so they can finish school while serving the country. They have great choices of advancing their military careers or just preparing after their retire in the service, either way, they have all the means to succeed at MilitaryDegree.com. They even offer discounts for active soldiers and veterans so you wouldn’t have to worry about it being expensive.

I wish we have this here. I am working in AFP and I met so many intelligent soldiers who are very dedicated but don’t have the chance to advance their knowledge in preparation for their future because we don’t have that opportunity here. In safeguarding our future, our government should also think of their future.

Uses of Pineapple Juice

I’m into drinking of pineapple juice nowadays. I find it beneficial in so many ways. Anyway, here are the other stuff I learned about the juice.

Culinary Uses
In many world cuisines–most prominently in Asian, South American and Pacific Island cuisine–pineapple juice is used for both sweet and savory dishes. Pineapple juice, fresh or canned, is both sweet and acidic, and therefore can be used in dishes such as curries, fried rices, marinades for poultry, meats and fish, popsicles, sorbets, ice creams, smoothies and in fruit salads. The culinary uses are endless; though as a marinade for meat or poultry, it should not rest on the meat for longer than an hour, as pineapple juice contains the acidic chemical known as bromelain, which breaks down protein structures. For a tough piece of meat, pineapples juice is a great tenderizer.

Medicinal Uses
In holistic and herbal medicine, pineapple juice has been used as a remedy for many ailments for centuries. The acidity in the juice is used to bring about perspiration, and so it is often used as a fever reducer. Pineapple juice is often used to help relieve the discomfort of indigestion and stomach cramping, as the enzyme bromelain breaks down proteins and facilitates digestion.
Externally, pineapple juice can also be used to soothe dry skin and calluses. It is also believed to have anti-inflammatory effects, and is used for the relief of tired muscles, achy joints and sore throats.

Beverages
Freshly pressed pineapple juice is a delicious alternative to the morning class of OJ. However, the most common use of pineapple juice is as a component of tropical alcoholic beverages, such as the Mai Tai, Pina Colada, Sex on the Beach and dozens of others. Popular brands include Dole del Monte and Ocean Spray.

Catalyst for Labor
A popular medicinal belief is the drinking of pineapple juice to induce labor in late stages of pregnancy. As aforementioned, the enzyme bromelain found in pineapple juice is used as an anti-inflammatory, but it is also believed to act as a prostoglandin (as is mango, papaya and sperm), which softens the connective tissues in the cervix, causing the uterus to contract, and thus initiate labor. However, in order for pineapple juice to be used to induce labor, it must be consumed fresh, as the enzymes are destroyed during canning and processing.

Excited over Venice

Not in Italy (How I wish!) but this is the closest I can get to Venice. I’ve been raving about this place over and over, it’s less than 10 minutes drive from our house. Right now, there are nice places where we can dine there, there’s the newly opened Hap Chan, Kitaro, Razon’s, Chicken Inasal, Pancake House, McDonald’s, Starbucks and 7-11. There are also schools around. The Korean International School is soon to open while the Chinese International School is already functioning just like the popular, The Blue Leaf. There are so many fast rising steel buildings around McKinley but frankly I’m most excited with this…

Because we’re such mall rats. This place will be like Serendra, stores and restaurants surrounding the residences. Nice. If I have th emoney I will buy one unit here but a small unit must be costing a million bucks. And why I’m so excited of the place is this one…

The closest I can go to my dream destination, oh boy it will be a blast riding in one of these gondolas while listening to the romantic voice of the gondolier. Fantastic. Hope the Venice opens soon. More info here and pictures at http://megaworldmoguls.multiply.com/.

The Voice

I’ve always wanted to come back and visit New York City again. Being there for just 2 days were not enough. We actually went around the city for a day and spent another day with my relatives there. I never even saw Central Park. Bummer, I know. I need to know more about the cultural and entertainment scene of the city. I want to go to the popular museums and restaurants there. But even our relatives in the US don’t have enough knowledge about the city so what I did is research, who knows, we might be going there soon.

VillageVoice.com is an online newspaper that goes beyond telling the news, it gives us the head start of what to see, feel, hear and taste in New York City. They have the list of the finest New York Restaurants, museums, theaters and places to visit in the city. I bet we will be able to enjoy the Big Apple more, now that I know where to look.

Easy Search

We have relatives all over the United States not to mention my sister who is now living in Canada. In time for the Holidays of course calling them and talking to them is really nice so my mom asked me to search area codes in their respective addresses. Great thing I found this site that will help me and made my searching a breeze. Now you can ask me any area code and I will easily tell you what it is as fast as counting 1-2-3! :)

Who’s Calling Me?

I’m experiencing callers on my cellphone that I don’t recognize the numbers. I usually don’t answer when a number is unrecognizable. I just hate callers like that. They should just text me and introduce themselves first because I will definitely not answer a call who is not registered in my phonebook. I wish I have those Reverse Phone Lookup where I can track the number whether it’s listed or not. I sometimes get curious whether the call is really that important that I need to take it or not, an information of the owner of the number will be very much important before taking the call right? I wouldn’t want to answer several numbers calling me only to find out its a prank. And ever wonder about the National No Call Registry? Boy this is one great idea where you register your phone to the list and your number will be removed from the database of the telemarketers hence no more calls from advertisers. That will be a treat right? New great ideas for easy life.
