We had a talk about mesothelioma and I admit, I need to have more knowledge about this condition. Speaking of more knowledge, I need to read more about photography and to practice photography again. I have no plans in taking it to the next level and have it for a business, I have friends who are better than that, let’s just live that to them. Mine is for more personal gain. I want to take better photos of my son. I am having problems with the actions shots especially during the night which led me to buy an external flash which somehow helped. Now I take nicer photos than before, not very professional but enough to treasure great memories.

AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D Lens
My husband gave this as his early birthday present to me. I was a bit skeptic that he will not give me this on my birthday since it’s really expensive and with my son’s birthday coming up, I couldn’t force it but when Alpha told me about dponline allowing installment payment with 0% interest for 6 months, I instantly told the news to my husband and he just didn’t answer so I was hopeless until yesterday when I really held the new toy. Thanks so much Hone! You are really the best, thanks for understanding my hobby and the love of photography.

It’s really small and it’s so cute with our D50 body, it’s a very different feeling holding our DSLR with the new lens, it’s lighter than our 18-200mm Sigma lens.
I got a bit disoriented when my hubby said about a really nice small flash for Nikon, I was talking to these people who sell and buy term life insurance here at work when he PM-ed me about this tiny flash he saw online so of course, I got excited again! He knows so well that I love photography and I told him I will save for myself and buy all the stuff that I’m dreamign about. We were taking pictures last night and even with a diffuser, the built in flash still makes harsh light and shadows and I told him that it’s really nice if we can still have an external flash, not too big since our old dslr is already heavy and lo and behold, he got an answer for me already, the Nikon SB 400.

How it looks like on a camera?

Nice right? If only I also have this camera, my dream D90 then my birthday will be very happy.
I want to pursue my interest in photography. I dream of having a small (intimate) studio of my own, enjoying what I love to do while earning a little from it, I don’t want this to be big since I have my other interests like maybe having my own cafe or restaurant. I want to cover intimate weddings and take pictures of babies, families and pregnant women on location of in the comforts of my own studio. Equipments for this hobby are very expensive which makes this a bit unreacheable. Let me share with you my dream lenses… so far I only have 2.

Yeah that’s me. I’m just furious at myself since last night. My Nikon needs servicing. Darn! Stupid me, I left it in the car when it’s like 1000 degrees outside. It was scorching hot and I didn’t think of Nikkie at all. My fault. I was too busy at work and at scrapping that I forgot all about it. So what’s wrong with it? Well, I can still use it in Manual mode {thank God}, if the natural light is good and the subject is not moving, then I can still take good pictures but if it’s indoor and I need to use the child mode with the flash, then the problem occurs. The picture is peach black and you couldn’t recognize who or what is in the picture. The Nikon body itself couldn’t identify the flash. They are not in sync for now. They have their own thing and just couldn’t give me great photos. So no Dustin photos at all for now until I find a great service center that can fix Nikkie. I will leave you with the last shots of my dslr before it got busted.

Picture taken last August 3, 2008. I was testing the natural light up in our attic. Recently just read something about it. I must admit, it’s way better than using flash but I had to snap a lot.
A very active kid, a snap bitten mommy, a Nikon in manual mode and no flash are no great combo. It was hard and every photo is grainy.
Practice. Practice. Practice.

I love playing with textures these days. It makes not so perfect photos, more perfect and timeless.
I hope to capture more improved shots soon. Anybody knows a great Nikon Service Center? Yay! Okay now, I’m off to look for laughlin hotels, somethign my friend who is so busy is asking me to do. Yeah, am a great friend or what?
Yes, at {WST} Tales Forum, we do not only encourage scrapbooking but there is a whole page just for photography that is hosted by one of the in house designers, Kathryn Wilson. What I love to join in is the photography games. One game was {foto fun}: the color game where in you just post a pic that (in whatever way) represents for you the next color on the list. Then the next person goes! The pattern was this for us players to follows:
#1: red
#2: pink
#3: orange
#4: yellow
#5: green
#6: blue
#7: purple
#8: black
and I fell on the number 5 and my green is this…

And just today as I was browsing the Category thread again, another game is so much fun for me to refuse to join, the {foto fun}: the alphabet game wherein you just post a pic that represents the next letter of the alphabet. Had to post for the letter “O” for Orchids…

For photgraphy hobbyist, you will definitely learn a lot from the forum, come and visit us some time. Have a great day!
